Tham Phet Village Trip

The October 10th village visit as part of the Ao Luk Village Project took place in the Tham Phet Village of the Ao Luk Nuea sub district. Tham Phet translates to 'Diamond Cave' and is famous for an impressive cave filled with sparkly rocks, hence to reference to diamonds. Since the village has a significant landmark visited by tourists, the community is attempting to clean up the village and make it appealing.

The GVI team joined the head of the village, the local community, school children, and the sub district office to pick up litter and plant trees along the village's main road. It was a great opportunity for the Expedition Members and the local Thai community to get together and have an exchange of language and culture. Despite language barriers everyone had a great time.

After cleaning and planting there was a picnic lunch for everyone to enjoy. Once bellies were full EMs had the opportunity to explore the caves which everyone enjoyed.
