End of Term 11 Halloween Party!

The 11th end of term party for GVI Thailand's free English classes in the Ao Luk community took place on the October 31st, just in time for a proper Halloween celebration. These parties provide an opportunity for local students and GVI's volunteer teachers to get together and celebrate together outside of the classroom.

Although Halloween isn't a common Thai celebration students were excited for the opportunity to experience the customs and cultures of their teachers. Many students came dressed up in costume as witches, ghosts, and in traditional Thai garb. The party began with activities including mask making, face painting, fortune telling and apple bobbing.

The rest of the evening consisted of eating, drinking, singing and dancing, karaoke, a T-shirt raffle and a costume contest. 8 Expedition Members received their TEFL certificates and had the opportunity to celebrate their success and new status as Newly Qualified Teachers (NQTs).
