Thai Lessons

GVI Thailand Expedition Members have a wonderful opportunity to speak Thai through twice weekly lessons taught by Thai staff member, Jack. Utilizing a series of interactive games, activities, and student centered teaching techniques Jack teaches EMs how to ask simple questions and give answers, count from 1-9,999, bargain for prices at the market and tell time. These basic lessons allow EMs to go out and communicate with the local community as well as assist them on travels around the country.

Today's lesson was a laid back one. EMs learned the Thai words for colors and played a color game similar to Twister. Then they learned the popular Thai children's song called "Pleng Chang" which translates to "Elephant Song" and describes elephants. This expedition the Thai lessons are a huge hit and many EMs have been attending regularly.
