Project Week: Kayaking in Bor Thor

This Saturday, GVI volunteers spent a lovely morning kayaking in the village of Bor Thor.

We set out in our two-person kayaks just after 9am and spent the morning paddling down the placid water among the mangroves and karst mountains. The trip was high-lighted by sojourns into impressive caves and lagoons. Our last stop was to Tham Pee Hua Toe (Big-headed Ghost Cave) where most of the group was taken on a tour of the cave to see the 2,000 year old cave paintings while others enjoyed a swim in the waters just outside the cave.

The group had worked up quite and appetite by the time they arrived back at the dock so headed to the local seafood restaurant for a delicious lunch.

Paddling among the mangroves is a great way to start your day!
