End of Term Party!

The 17th end of term party at the GVI base was particularly festive this time! With 3 projects running at the same time guests ranged from GVI's English students studying at the Non-Formal Education Center and their families as well as several directors and teachers from the schools GVI's Teaching Children volunteers are working with.

10 TEFL certificates were given out our volunteers who successfully completed their new qualification. 8 of them will stay on to get further teaching experience in Ao Luk. 6 teaching children volunteers were introduced to the community and 2 teachers from local schools gave speeches in English and Thai to thank the teachers for their assistance. And GVI's new construction volunteers even gave a speech to tell the community about the work they are doing and hope that they will enjoy utilizing their new classrooms.

In addition we bid farewell to Penny, who has been a GVI staff member and TEFL trainer since GVI first settled in Ao Luk back in 2007. Penny is returning home to continue her studies. A big thank you to Penny for all her hard work and dedication. Over the past 2 years she has helped to train nearly 100 new teachers!
