Construction and Renovation Week 1

For the first stage of the 2 week construction project volunteers focused on creating a new classroom on the first floor of the blue building. This room has been left abandoned and unused for years until the Ao Luk Primary School gave permission for GVI to help renovate the room for use by the local community.

Volunteers spent a few days cleaning the room, priming and painting and decorating the room. It already looks great! See below for the before and after pics.

Next week several volunteers will work on a mural on the back wall. The classroom should be ready to use for the next term of English classes beginning in August!
