Construction Project Begins!

Today began GVI's first ever Construction and Renovation project in Ao Luk, Thailand.(http://www.gvi.co.uk/projects/Asia/Thailand/Volunteer-Construction-Thailand/home)Volunteers have joined the GVI team of volunteers for 2 weeks to help make improvements one of the buildings next to the Ao Luk Non-Formal Education Center.

The building is owned by the Ao Luk Primary School but since moving to a new school nearby years ago, they have left the building to be used by the community for educational purposes. Along with GVI's evening classes other schools, the NFE Centre, the agricultural college, summer camps and other groups use the building to hold classes. The building, however, is quite dilapidated and can use a lot of love. GVI's newest volunteers are here for just that purpose. They will spend the next two week, creating new classrooms and revamping new ones to help create a bright environment with a great atmosphere for learning that the whole community can utilize and enjoy.

These volunteers don't want to reveal their work too early so stay tuned for before and after pictures to come soon!
