Village Project at Wat Rat Rangsan

The local nearby Buddhist Temple (Wat Rat Rangsan) recently received a huge donation of trees from a nursery in Phuket in order to beautify the temple grounds. The monks and community requested the assistance of GVI volunteers to help plant the trees. GVI's TEFL volunteers spent Friday morning at the temple planting trees, watering the trees and picking up trash alongside the monks and some members of the local community.
After a morning of hard work in the sun, everyone enjoyed lunch together in the shade. Some volunteers sampled the yummy curries and snacks donated by local visitors to the temple.
With some time and care the new temple trees will grow into a beautiful garden perfect for quiet meditation and relaxation!
