Renovation Project: Week One

This morning a group of six volunteers descended on Ao luk. These were not our typical aspiring teachers, this group was out to renovate our well-loved, well-used yet somewhat dilapidated Non-Formal Education Center. The team consisted of four volunteers out on the Community Renovation project and two individuals on a volunteer holiday. After getting settled in, we set off in the afternoon to get our first glimpse of the NFE center and to plan out the tasks we hoped to accomplish over the next two weeks.

We decided to focus on the three upstairs rooms: reinforcing the walls, painting, and adding some decorative details that we’re sure the students and teachers will appreciate.
