Village Project in Ao Naam

Palm-fringed beaches of golden sand kissed by warm turquoise seas. Well, nearly; the beach at Ao Naam certainly looked a tad more like those in the holiday brochures after volunteers from GVI Ao Luk completed their latest clean-up.

The team collected some 30 bags of bottles, glass, plastic, cans and discarded fishing nets – and developed a new hatred for crumbled polystyrene which littered the beach.

A number of GVI’s language students as well as local children also turned up to lend a hand – offering hope that they will grow up to respect the environment and encourage others to do likewise.

The next clean up is scheduled for April 16, when the Ao Luk team will head to Ban Laem Sak.
