End of Term Party
The first term of 2009 was celebrated with a bang on Friday night. Students joined their teachers at the GVI base to celebrate their successes. Students brought along delicious Thai dishes to share. 11 new TEFL teachers received their 100 hour TEFL qualification and the 4 that are staying on as newly qualified English teachers were introduced to the community. One level 6 student, named Nid, graduated from the English program and was presented with a diploma and a Thai-English dictionary. Nid gave a speech and sang a song with the student representative, Kitti and her Level 6 teacher, Emily. After introductions, presentations, some karaoke and a T-shirt raffle, Kitti serenaded the crowd with some old English songs on his guitar. All in all it was a wonderful night.
