End of 5 weeks
Today we said a weepy (for some!) farewell to 4 Expedition Members who are moving on from the GVI base and prepare to welcome 5 more. It's always hard to see new friends go but we wish them the best on their new ventures and hope they are able to utilize the experiences and qualification gained in their 5 week stay on the GVI Thailand base in Ao Luk. Armed with bags big enough to fit small children, their shiny new TEFL certificates and CDs full of memorable photo memories including muddy village moments, teaching English to adults and children, planting mangroves, picking up trash, learning about Thai language, culture and community, Thursday night costume parties, Thai-style pancakes, and much more, everyone waved goodbye as they bumped along in Noi's red "songthaew" taxi. It's hard to believe that only 5 weeks have gone by. A lot sure has happened.
