Kayaking Side Trip

Here is an entertain blog written by our 9 month intern, Abi Sayre:

"On Saturday October 9th, 12 volunteers went kayakig in Bor Thor, just 15 minutes away from GVI base. While a few were veterans to the trip, it was still exciting for everyone. We visited four caves in total, a couple that were newly added to the trip. GVI's favorite tour guide, Man, led us through gorgeous mangroves where we were completely surrounded by masive limestones cliffs and green as far as you could see. After kayaking through a dark, narrow cave we found ourselves in the most beautiful and natural lagoon you can imagine. A bunch of us dove in for a swim while others lay back to relax and take in the flawless nature all around us. Our last stop was at a cave where we took a look at some incredible stalactites and saw ancient cave paintings. We then went back to shore and had a delicious seafood lunch at Bor Thor Seafood, a bamboo structure on stilts above the water with more great views. Those of us that will be here for the next kayaking trip are already looking forward to going again!"
