New Arrivals!
15 new volunteers arrived at the GVI Thailand base in Ao Luk, Krabi today. 3 are joining us as 6 month interns in which they will receive their 100 hour TEFL certificate, additional teaching practice finishing off with a 3 month teaching placement in Ao Luk or another community. 3 other volunteers are out to get their 50 or 100 hour TEFL qualification alongside the interns. And a total of 9 volunteers came out to assist with teaching children in the local primary schools. 3 of these will be taking part in GVI's BTEC leadership training which is an added 30 hour certificate course about successful team leadership.
The first weekend is full of training, orientations and lots and lots of information. Volunteers and staff will have some time to get to know each other ice breakers and meals before classes start both in the schools and at the Non-Formal Education Center on Monday!
