Kayaking!

On Saturday, 5 volunteers (Bec, Louise, Dauna, Francois and Mei) headed off to Bor Thor with Laura, our base manager, to go Kayaking. Bor Thor is a small village in the largest area of mangrove forests in Thailand.

Man was the local guide for the day. He took everyone to Pee Hua Toh where there are ancient cave paintings of a big headed ghost and a six fingered hand.

They also kayaked through a tunnel to reach a beautiful lagoon straight from the scenes of Jurassic Park. On the way back Man took everyone on a short detour which involved getting out of the kayaks and pulling them through a rocky outcrop in a narrow channel before getting back in to navigate through a condensed mangrove area.

After the exciting, busy morning kayaking, everyone headed to Bor Thor Seafood for a delicious lunch including tempura prawns and deep fried barracuda in sweet and sour sauce. All in all everyone had a fantastic day and left satisfied and happy.
