Classes begin

Today was the first day of classes for GVI's teaching volunteers.

Volunteers coming to teach children at local schools observed their project coordinator lead a class before having the chance to teach as a group. Three of those volunteers also pursing a leadership training certificate began their first unit of training. All 9 of these volunteers will begin teaching among 9 different local primary schools starting on Tuesday.

At the Ao Luk Non-Formal Education Center GVI's 25th term of free English classes for the local community began with 65 students. 8 classes for levels 1-6 are available for the adult community aged 15 and up. TEFL volunteers began their first day of classes by observing their trainer teach a demonstration lesson while interns and staff took on the remaining classes. TEFL volunteers will have the opportunity to begin teaching tomorrow!
