Thai Cooking Workshop

There are endless opportunities to get involved with the local community and Friday provided a variety of them. One of the most popular activities is learning Thai cooking. Thai food is known for it's distinct pungent flavors and use of a variety of herbs and fresh ingredients. In the afternoon some GVI teachers were invited by their students to learn how to make Thai sweets and join them for dinner back at their house. Back at the base, another Thai cooking workshop was going on. A member of the local community worked with several EMs to teach them to cook a few favorite Thai dishes which included Phat Krapao Moo Sop (spicy minced pork stir fried with basil leaves), Gaeng Matsaman (a spicy, peanutty curry made with chicken and potatoes) and Phad Thai (Stir fried noodles with peanuts and lime). There is never a lack of delicious, flavorful Thai foods around.
