New Arrivals!

the 7th of November rolled around and brought us 6 more expedition members joining us for 2 to 5 weeks to get TEFL qualifications and practice teaching English in the local community.

4 men and 2 women joined us from Australia and England and integrated themselves quickly into expedition life here in Ao Luk, Thailand. With 7 male expedition members and 1 male staff, this is the first time in GVI Thailand history where male EMs have outnumbered female and there has been an almost even gender dispersal. Compared to the July-September expedition with all females the change is welcomed.

The next 5 weeks will offer a plethora of cultural opportunities for these volunteers and they are lucky to have the chance to experience the Loy Krathong festival, the King's Birthday, along with the usual side trips, village projects, Thai cooking workshops, and Thai cooking lessons. Here's to ending 2008 with a bang!
