Ao Luk Big Cleaning Day

Monday the 21st of July was a big cleaning day in Ao Luk. This is part of a large provincial ongoing Town Cleaning Project overseen by Krabi government offices. In Ao Luk it falls under the Ao Luk Community Developement Office and includes GVI's Ao Luk Village Project in which GVI Expedition Members assist with development, conservation and education along with community members in Ao Luk's rural villages.

The Big Cleaning Day on Monday started with an opening ceremony at Than Bok National Park, just minutes from the Ao Luk base. The governor of Krabi opened the cleaning day and GVI EMs and staff held a banner supported the longterm clean-up effort (the Thai writing in the photo reads "Global Vision International (GVI Thailand) supports Krabi Town Cleaning"). Following the opening ceremony a large group of people including local governement workers, police, volunteer rescue, students and community members.
