Huay Pitsina Teaching Village Project

This past Friday GVI volunteers ventured out to Huay Pitsina primary school located a mere 15 minute drive away from the GVI base. This gorgeous school has around 70 lovely students.

Groups of two and three volunteers taught numbers, colors and shapes, animals, and fruits to these bright and well-behaved students.

Apple then engaged the students in an environmental education class. The students enjoyed the class and were already quite aware of the rules for recycling and reusing certain materials. The students were then given the opportunity to ask GVI teachers questions. One student asked about Halloween and another was curious to hear about Thanksgiving.

Huay Pitsina School then provided GVI teachers with a delicious lunch of seafood salad, curried pork and plates full of fresh fruit.

Everyone enjoyed this teaching village project immensely and hoped to soon return to Huay Pitsina!
