Village Project in Ban Klang

On Friday, GVI TEFL volunteers and staff returned to the community of Ban Klang to complete work from the 10/10/10 workday earlier this month. On that day GVI's director, volunteers and staff joined the local community to make improvements on the Ban Klang Non-Formal Education satellite center located at the village mosque which included planting trees, installing energy efficient lights, painting the classroom interiors and doing other general cleaning and maintenance. Work remaining from the work day included painting the exterior of the education center and doing some final clean up work.

Everyone spent the morning working happily away and enjoyed a nice picnic lunch at the mosque. Despite the hot weather and hard work, it was a relaxing day with people singing and goofing around while they painted. It was a nice change of pace after a week of teaching!
