Ao Luk Village Project 2008
A year has passed since GVI signed an MOU (Memorandum of Understanding) with the Ao Luk Community Development Office, the mayor of Ao Luk and the heads of Ao Luk's villages to mark the start of the Ao Luk Village Project. This project was designed to provide assistance for small rural villages throughout Ao Luk with projects designated by the community themselves. On Fridays throughout the year the GVI team visited a different village in which they would assist with such activities as teaching English to school children, planting trees or mangroves, picking up litter or making general improvements to schools, temples, mosques, community centres or other important community places such as reservoirs or caves.
In one year GVI has done a total of 25 village projects in 21 villages throughout the 52 villages in Ao Luk.
