Thanksgiving

Despite the fact that only a few Americans and one Canadian are on base this expedition, even the Brits, Aussies, and Thais jumped in to celebrate the holiday as an opportunity to get together, eat yummy foods and give thanks for all the blessings in our lives.

Since classes are taught in the evening, Thanksgiving dinner wasn’t until 9 PM but several hands went into making the delicious meal. Rotisserie chicken, mashed potatoes, gravy, stuffing, green beans, corn, pumpkin pie, pumpkin cheesecake, and pumpkin, carrot, raisin bread made fine substitutes for a traditional turkey roast dinner. Yum!

The evening finished with everyone hanging around under the bamboo shelters with a beer and a rowdy game of cricket.

Emily told me all about the feast... and sent me pictures.
I miss good ole cooking by Jill!
And I miss GVI a ton.
Much love from (still) rainy Seattle.
