End of English Mini course for children in Ban Tham Suea Village

Thursday ended the 2 week English class 4 teaching children volunteers taught out at the village of Ban Tham Suea. Ban Tham Suea is one of the 8 communities involved in the Ao Luk Community Based Tourism Network. The community requested GVI's assistance with English language, beginning with the community's children.

GVI's teaching volunteers focused on English for tourism and introduced language about food, question and answer, home stays, hotels and day trips.

On the Final day of class everyone celebrated at the new home stay resort in the village. GVI's teachers tried their hand at making Pad Thai, a delicious stir fried noodle dish, with the assistance of a local cook. The volunteers were quick to learn and all the dishes were delicious!

Later in the evening, GVI teachers awarded certificates of completion to 8 students who came to nearly every class. 4 of the students performed a speech or role play to show off the language they had learned. And finally, representatives of GVI and the Ao Luk Community Based Tourism Network signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) symbolizing their new partnership together.
