Lunch with the Non Formal Education Center Teachers!

GVI invited their partners at the Ao Luk Non-Formal and Informal Education Center for a special lunch at the GVI base. In honor of almost 3 years of working together to provide educational opportunities for the community of Ao Luk it was time for teachers to have the opportunity to get together for some food and fun. The Ao Luk NFE center also brought along friends from 2 more NFE centers in Surat Thani, the next province over. In total, there were over 50 people joining together for the festive lunch.

The lunch began with an icebreaker activity which provided an opportunity for teachers to mingle and exchange information despite language barriers. At the end of the activity everyone was mixed up into small groups to which they had lunch with. Lunch consisted of chicken biriyani rice, tuna fish, peanut butter sandwiches and more fruit than you can imagine; rambutan, mangosteen, watermelon, oranges and grapes galore!

After lunch speeches were made by the 3 directors of the various NFE centers, a few free T-shirts were awarded and group pictures were taken. Everyone had a great time and it was a nice opportunity to mingle with some new faces.
