Tiger Temple Cave

On Saturday, the 7th of June 2008 Expedition Members (EMs) had the opportunity to visit the Tiger Temple Cave, a popular destination outside of the town of Krabi. This temple is famous for its Buddha image and footprint found high on the mountain that can be reached only by climbing up 1,237 steep steps up to the top. Those brave enough to attempt the climb are rewarded with an amazing 360 degree view of the province, including the mountains, plantations, and seas below. It truly is amazing.

For the slightly less brave there is an equally amazing alterative for those who want to take a stroll through the jungle. A slight climb takes you back down into a valley created by the towering mountains. This valley contains several caves for exploring. The path winds through an old forest famous for gigantic 1,000 year old trees with buttresses that make visitors look tiny compared to the beautiful giants.
