Children's International Mangrove Art Contest
In July this year, GVI Thailand headed to Wat Praisom School, one of our local schools to present a puppet show about the importance of mangroves. The students also had a chance to work on their artistic skill and completed mangrove drawings which were entered into the yearly Mangrove Action Project art contest, an international competition where the top pictures are used in the following years calendar. These are sold to raise awareness to the worlds mangroves.
Well, the results are in. Fantastically, Wat Praisom School won the top 3 prizes for Thailand, and the 1st place drawing will be used in 2013 calender. GVI Thailand are planning a trip back to Wat Praisom School in December to present the winning students with a copy of the calender.
