Trash Pick Up at the Center!

GVI volunteers and staff gathered together with students to spruce up the center. The group convened in the evening, after the heat had subsided, to pick up trash in and around our classrooms. It was well-timed as that same evening the municipality was holding the women's day celebration just down the street.

The annual celebration is held to honor the women of Aoluk. Women from each sub-district come prepared to showcase some skill or craft and all enjoy a delicious meal together. After classes finished all the teachers wandered down to check out the festivities and some were even pulled in to a dance!
