10th End of Term Party

On Friday GVI hosted yet another end of term party at the GVI base. Despite a week of rain leading up to the party, the turn out was as good as ever. Students brought dishes such as noodles, fruit, sweets, and snacks. GVI provided the karaoke, music, and entertainment for the party. 5 Expedition Members received their TEFL certification for successful completion of the 100 hour course. 5 more EMs received a special thank you for the classes they completed teaching in the community providing them even more experience as TEFL teachers. Additionally we announced new additions to our staff team, Emma and Cassie-Mae who will be joining us as interns from October-December 2008.

This party was extra special as it was the 10th one, marking the end of the 10th term and everyone celebrated the first round of graduates from the free English program. Three students, Kitti, Dr. Saree, and Tal all successfully completed Level 6 after over a year of studying with GVI in Ao Luk. They received a Diploma of completion along with a Thai-English Dictionary.

It was a fab night!
